  1. Windows NT Wave drivers for InterWave based cards...
  2. Version 0.90.3

  4. Since I've deleted Win95 from my HD and use almost always
  5. WinNT I missed my GUS PnP very much...
  6.  
  7. So I've decided not to wait until May 15th and create my own driver...
  8.  
  9. This driver is a more or less functional WAVE IN/OUT + MIXER
  10. driver which uses the Interwave's CODEC. It doesn't support
  11. MIDI IN/OUT or SYNTH. (sorry...)
  12.  
  13. Unpack the file and use ControlPanel/Multimedia/Devices/Add..
  14.  
  15. It has also certain limitations:
  16. - Uses only 1 DMA channel (no full duplex)
  17. - it doesn't initialize the PnP logic on the card...
  18. (good news for GusMax users, maybe the Max's CODEC
  19. will also work with this driver... Give a try)

  21. To make the driver work under NT you have to configure the card
  22. before NT boots. The best way to do this, to boot into
  23. DOS and use IWINIT with the LEGACY option in IW.INI, then
  24. warm boot the machine and run NT:(
  25. (maybe USERS with PnP motherboard do not need to do this???)

  27. The supported CODEC adresses: 32C, 33C, 34C, 35C
  28. IRQ: 5, 7, 11, 15
  29. DMA: 1, 3, 5, 7

  31. I would recommend: CODEC ADDR:32C; IRQ:11; BOOTH DMA:7
  32. This is the driver's default configuration.

  34. Typical problems:
  35. q The driver refuses to install:
  36. a You do not have an IW card or the card was not initialized
  37.   before NT booted.
  38. q Driver is installed and seems to working, but I can't
  39.   get any sound:
  40. a Probably your DMA channel is wrong in the settings panel.
  41. q It plays something, but it is only the first part of the
  42.   whole sound.
  43. a Wrong IRQ setting in the settings panel...
  44.  
  45. You can change the IRQ and DMA settings on the fly.
  46. Just change and press OK, no need to reboot.
  47. (but BE careful with the base address)

  56. PS: Currently there isn't any interwave specific in the
  57.     driver maybe it is working with GUS MAX's CODEC also.
